| ~Naruto Lands Of Shinobi~The Hirano are a secretive, cultish clan. They cultivate an image as thuggish brutes, pretending to be dumb muscle and hiding a deep, and deeply twisted, form of spirituality. They tend to stay isolated for the most part, making it less suspicious when those who don't want to follow the clan's prescribed path suddenly disappear.~Clan Application~Clan InformationClan Name: Hirano Bloodline Name: Blessed Corruption Bloodline Ability: The Hirano can use their tainted chakra to mutate their bodies, turning themselves into living weapons. This isn't exactly healthy for them, as the mutations may become permanent, warping their bodies and minds. Location: Donzogakure no Sato Clan History: For most of their history, the Hirano clan was just a minor clan in Donzogakure no Sato. Without anything to set their bloodline apart, they were just more cannon fodder in the background. In hopes of finding something to set them apart, they began to look for other sources of power. About a century ago, one of their elders made contact with some very unpleasant forces. These beings offered them power in return for worship, and most of the Hirano Clan thought that was a pretty good bargain. Those who didn't- well, it was said that they left in protest, but nobody saw them go. The Hirano all agree that it's best not to overthink it. Once the troublemakers had left, the remaining Hirano set about gathering their clan into an almost cultish compound. At the center of this compound, deep underground, they built a sacred place they call the Temple Obscura, a room so infused with the power of their master that there's some debate over whether it's a gateway to their world. Hirano go there to meditate from a very young age, with each one seeing a different place from all the others. The power of the Temple infects them, weakening and distorting normal ninjutsu while giving them their own terrible powers. The Hirano embraced their role as the brutes of Donzogakure, dressing to match a barbarian stereotype and taking to using large, crude weapons in place of the more elegant ninja arsenal. The Hirano have since become one of Donzogakure's oddities, a bunch of self-proclaimed barbaric monsters who are incredibly devout in a religion they refuse to tell anyone about. Clan traits: All members of the Hirano clan get a tattoo of the Sigil Obscura covering their backs when they graduate the academy. They are also trained to resist pain, allowing them to transform without passing out. Clan Weaknesses: Every time a Hirano mutates, there's a chance it will become permanent. Any permanent mutation can be overridden by a higher-ranking mutation, but once that transformation ends it will revert to the permanent mutation. Unless, of course, the new mutation becomes permanent. D-ranked jutsu have a 1 in 100 chance of a permanent mutation every time they transform. For C-rank it's 1 in 75, 1 in 50 for B, 1 in 25 for A, and guaranteed for S-rank. At that point, they've channeled too much tainted power to keep a handle on it. This also carries some mental risks. The more permanent mutations they get, the less human they are mentally. They lose empathy, and become far more prone to other mental illnesses. The transformation itself is also difficult, requiring the user to stand still for a turn while their body reshapes itself. During this time they will be completely unaware of their surroundings, too overwhelmed by pain to notice anything else. If the justu is not permanent, it will last until combat is over or the Hirano reverses the transformation. On top of this, there's the fact that their tainted chakra makes most normal ninjutsu weaker as the elements resist their commands. Any elements they use are tainted, and significantly weaker than those of their counterparts. Medical ninjutsu is also strongly discouraged, as their corrupt chakra risks causing mutations. What's more, normal summoned creatures are disgusted by them and will refuse to make a contract. They have to rely on their own monsters instead. Name: Listener Rank: D Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Improves the user's hearing, with the ears either stretching to long points or becoming large and floppy. If the transformation becomes permanent, the user will start to suffer from auditory hallucinations that become steadily worse. Eventually, they'll need to shout to hear themselves over the voices.
Name: Bloodhound Rank: D Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Improves the sense of smell, allowing the user to track targets by scent. It can come in two varieties. One is the nose, which flattens into just a pair of nostrils on the surface of their face. The other is a long, snakelike tongue that lets them taste the air, and gives their voice a hissing quality. The tongue is long enough to reach their own forehead. If this becomes permanent, it can lead to some erratic and feral behavior down the line as they rely more and more on their sense of smell.
Name: Lesser Talons Rank: D Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Grows a set of curved claws in place of fingernails and toenails. The claws are usually 1-2 inches long, and can be used for climbing or combat. They are very sharp, capable of easily tearing through flesh or wood, and even able to dig into brick or soft stone. If one is broken or damaged, it will be restored the next time this transformation is used. If it becomes permanent, the user will steadily become more hostile and violent.
Name: Lesser Horns Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The user grows rows of short, sharp horns on their forehead, all the better to headbutt you with. They can both inflict damage and absorb some impacts, providing additional head protection. If they become permanent, the user may become more aggressive, and more prone to using these new toys to vent their frustration.
Name: Lesser Maw Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Gains razor-sharp teeth, usually similar to a shark or an alligator. Their mouth widens, opening across the entire jawline. This makes the speech somewhat slurred, but gives a powerful close-ranged bite attack. Of course it needs very close contact to pull off, but it can easily tear through flesh. If it becomes permanent, the user will steadily become more hostile and violent.
Name: Beholder Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Can grow extra eyes anywhere on their body. These give the user a greater field of vision, but also open up new soft spots and vulnerable points. The eyes will always be slightly raised, so as not to interfere with other parts of the body. Unless intentionally closed at once, the eyes naturally settle into a patter where they cover for each other's blind spots and blink in sequence, always leaving at least one open. The eyes will automatically have an inhuman look, usually similar to a squid's eye, and the user's original eyes will change to match. If permanent, they can cause visual hallucinations.
Name: Extra Limb Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Can grow an extra arm or leg. Arms will automatically have a random mutation out of all the ones available to the user. If severed or otherwise incapacitated, another limb can never be grown in the same spot. Each extra limb will act slightly differently from its owner. If this mutation becomes permanent, these will slowly develop into full-fledged personalities, and may start conversing or even arguing with each other.
Name: Greater Talon Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The mutated hand or foot grows and stretches into a large, bird-like claw. The skin becomes leathery and long hooked talons grow from each fingertip. With this ability hand signs become awkward and difficult, but are still possible. Any jutsu requiring hand signs will take twice as long to activate. The size of the hand also makes it it impossible to use small weapons, such as kunai or shuriken. If the feet are mutated, they can act as a second pair of hands. If it becomes permanent, the user will steadily become more hostile and violent.
Name: Cudgel Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: A thick, hard shell grows over the user's fist, effectively turning it into a spiked club. The shell can stop a blade, and is capable of battering through bone and through some armors. Of course, this hand cannot be used for hand signs. If this becomes permanent, extra limbs will be required to use jutsus. Like most offensive mutations, it tends to cause increased aggression.
Name: Frogtongue Rank: C Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Grows a long tongue, capable of extending up to 3 meters. The tongue is prehensile, able to wrap around objects and pull them in. The tongue can also stick to objects for easier grabbing. Unlike most mutations, tongue mutations can combine without overwriting each other. If it becomes permanent, the user will develop a taste for small animals, swallowed whole.
Name: Greater Horns Rank: B Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The user grows a pair of large, sharp horns from their temples, usually in a bull-like shape. These protrusions are strong enough to block some weapons, and more than capable of goring someone. They can even pierce some kinds of armor. They have similar issues to the Lesser Horns if they become permanent.
Name: Greater Maw Rank: B Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The user's face grows and stretches into a snout, lined with razor-sharp teeth. This provides a slightly longer range than the Lesser Maw, and a much stronger jaw behind the bite. Speech is difficult, and the user must talk slowly and is still barely coherent. This bite is much stronger, able to easily snap bone. In addition to making the user more aggressive, a permanent mutation will give the user a taste for living flesh.
Name: Lizardskin Rank: B Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The user grows thick scales all over their body. These scales can deflect most blades, although they are less effective against blunt weapons. A blunt strike will be somewhat padded, but still does damage. This also leaves them with a weakened sense of touch, which can become frustrating if the mutation becomes permanent.
Name: Brute Rank: B Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: he user grows to 150% their normal size, becoming 3-4 times heavier. This larger form is significantly stronger and more muscular than their normal self, and speaks with a much deeper voice. Those who get this mutation permanently will start to see "little folks" as inferior, and may become callous and distant to them.
Name: Springheel Rank: B Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The legs lengthen and strengthen, growing an extra knee. This allows them to leap incredible distances and run unnaturally fast, even by shinobi standards. This also makes kick attacks significantly stronger, though kicking will tend to knock the user off-balance. A permanent makes them rather hyperactive, unable to stay still.
Name: Carapace Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Grows a thick, durable bony shell over the user's entire body. The carapace acts as armor, protecting from most mundane weapons but restricting movement a bit. The outside of each joint is marked by a sharp, jagged spike, although the insides of the joints are weak points. This completely blocks any sense of touch on the outside of the body, trapping them in a maddening sensory deprivation cell if it becomes permanent.
Name: Blister Armor Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Their skin takes on a leathery, swollen appearance. Superficially, it seems no better than the Lizardskin. When it's pierced, that changes. Under the outer layer is a sickly yellow-brown fluid that is highly corrosive to anything that isn't a Hirano. It's kept under pressure, spraying out when anything breaks through the outer layer of skin.
Name: Crawling Horror Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Grows pointed, segmented legs, similar to a spider or a crab. These can either be mutated from their existing limbs or grown as extras. The legs are covered with the same sort of shell as the Carapace jutsu creates, and end in sharp points that can punch through armor like a spear. These limbs make the user extremely agile, but they can have trouble getting up if tipped onto their backs. Has the same issues as the Extra Limb technique if permanent.
Name: Divine Maw Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The user's face opens into a lamprey-like mouth, lined with countless razor-sharp teeth. The Maw can chew through flesh, bone, and even metal with alarming speed. To compensate for the Maw's short reach, the mouth can shoot out feeder tendrils that will wrap around targets, trying to pull them in. The Maw is always hungry, with a preference for human flesh. If it becomes permanent, this will steadily drive the user to become more and more violent in search of fresh food. Due to the shape of the Maw, users are completely incapable of coherent speech.
Name: Tendril Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Creates a large, strong tentacle, with the gripping side lined with dozens of tiny fanged mouths. These can be used to latch onto a target, or to gnaw away at their victims. Like any other extra limb, these will develop their own personality if they become permanent, although they tend to be more violent and aggressive. Unlike other extra limbs, a new one can be regrown in the same place if one is severed.
Name: Divine Talon Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: A blade-like protrusion made of incredibly hard bone grows in place of a hand or foot. Transforming the hands makes hand signs impossible, and transforming the feet can make balance a bit difficult. Aside from the usual aggression problems, the user can start to be maddened by the loss of their normal extremities. Changes of that sort can be a lot to cope with.
Name: Barbed Tongue Rank: A Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: The user gets a venomous stinger inside the tip of their tongue that can be deployed at will. The stinger injects a corrosive fluid similar to that of the Blister Armor technique, retracting to hide safely inside the tongue while not in use. This can be combined with either or both of the other tongue transformations. If it becomes permanent, the user may become obsessed with the toxin's effects on various creatures.
