personality information ___________________________________________ Toshu thinks of himself as a misunderstood artist, perhaps the greatest of his age. And like all artists, he has to push boundaries. For most artists, this would mean painting about taboo topics, or creating more abstract works. But as a blacksmith, whose works must first and foremost be practical, how was he supposed to experiment with more avant-garde art? The answer, of course, is with fuinjutsu. Toshu believes that using human souls, or parts of souls, or even body parts in the making of a weapon is just the cutting edge of art, and will someday be widely accepted. It shocks and offends him that people think he does this out of sadism. He is genuinely sorry for having to hurt people, but it's a necessary evil for the beauty he creates. In fact, Toshu thinks this outrage about what he does is downright hypocritical. He's well aware of what his creations are used for. Everything he makes is either designed to kill, or to help someone kill more efficiently. If someone takes one of his swords and kills a hundred, that man would be a hero. Why is he the villain when he kills one man to create that sword? The Smith is disgusted with the current culture, which he believes glorifies destruction and demonizes creation. In fact, most of current culture revolts him. He's taught himself a great deal about old art, old music, old culture and so on in an effort to culture himself. He's also taught himself a hatred for modern popular culture, which he thinks is a blight on mankind. He has been known to stop on a mission in order to destroy something he considers tacky or creatively bankrupt. He also makes an effort to sound sophisticated, speaking in a very formal and sometimes antiquated manner. Toshu's old loyalties are long gone. He considered Raiugakure the embodiment of the anti-artistic sentiments he hates so much, and was downright glad when his master destroyed the place. As far as he's concerned, it was already a cultural wasteland. Now the appearance matches the reality. He's a bit delusional about why Zaku took him in, though. In his mind, Uchiha Zaku was a brilliant visionary who saw the beauty in his art. Because of this, he's developed a virulent hatred for Donzokogakure. Taijutsu below B rank is completely useless, and all Taijutsu will likely cause some injury to the attacker as they try to punch through solid iron.

The inscription will appear to be in the user's handwriting, and doesn't affect the strength of the object.
Name: Kinton: Imprisoned Man Canon/Custom: Custom Element: Kinton Type: Ninjutsu Rank: B Jutsu Prerequisites: Handseals: Snake->Horse->Ox Description: Chains erupt from the ground, attempting to bind the target. Can either stretch them in an X position, or bind them with their hands pinned to their sides. The stretching variant has steel framework rooted in the ground to hold the target in place, but the binding variant will leave the target able to be carried and moved while still bound. The shackles shrink to fit the wrist they are placed on, so it is impossible to slip free without breaking some bones. This is meant to be used against a stationary target, with the chains reaching at most about three meters. These are ordinary steel chains, and can be broken by the same weapons or jutsu that would break those. The difference is that the shackle fuses around the limb, leaving no lock to pick. The chains have to be broken to escape.

Name: Kinton: Imprisoned God Canon/Custom: Custom Element: Kinton Type: Ninjutsu/Fuinjutsu Rank: S Jutsu Prerequisites: Handseals: Snake->Horse->Ox->Boar->Dragon Description: Creates shackles identical to the Imprisoned Man jutsu, save for one thing. These chains are inscribed with writing in some ancient language. If caught, the target's chakra will be sealed and they will be unable to use their jutsus. Bijuu chakra or Sage chakra is not sealed by this technique and can be used to escape, but aside from that the only escape is to have someone else break you out. The chains are too strong to break without chakra, but they only block the energy coming from within. Once the chains are broken, their power is gone and the shackles fall away.

Name: Doton: Doryū Jōheki [Earth Release: Earth-style Rampart] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: B Orientation: Defensive Effects: Causes a massive earth rampart to rise up under the user's feet. The caster controls the shape of the formation, creating anything from simple walls and towers to elaborate buildings, although larger and more complex structures will take far more chakra.
Name: Doton Dakuryuu jutsu [Mud Stream Technique] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: D Orientation: Offensive Effects: A basic earth move that moistens the soil in front of him, and then raises and shoots it at an opponent in the form of a sudden spray of mud. The jutsu is now a strong one, the mud doing little lasting damage, however it does serve to slow an opponent, the mud clinging to their body and disorienting their movement.
Name: Joushou Hashira [Rising Pillar[bb]][/b] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: D Orientation: Defensive, Supplementary Effects: A simple technique that costs the earth to rise, a pillar of stone that shoots forward. This can be used to create a barrier to impede an enemy's progress, defend against attacks, and even be created below shinobi to lift them above the battlefield.
Name: Doro Gaeshi [Mud Overturn] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: C Orientation: Defensive Effects: An earth based technique which controls the ground in front of the user, taking a large section of it and raising it before the user, forming a sturdy wall capable of withstanding most normal attacks and lesser jutsus. Great impacts may shatter it, however, though the wall will still lessen the force of an attack.
Name: Retsudo Tenshou [Revolving Split Earth Palm] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: C Orientation: Offensive Effects: An earth jutsu which manipulates stones in a manner similar to telekinesis, allowing them to levitate and throw nearby rocks. This gives them a vast amount of projectiles to utilize against an opponent, though only a few objects may be moved at a time, and none of great size. This jutsu may be utilized for multiples turns, allowing them to let loose a barrage of stones upon an opponent.
Name: Domu [Earth Spear] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: B Orientation: Supplementary Effects: A fairly odd technique due to the fact that, rather like most earth jutsus that draw stone from the ground, Domu surrounds one's body with chakra and then uses one's earth affinity to harden it, causing the out-layers of the skin to turn to stone. This ability does not interfere with the Shinobi's ability to control their limbs nor strike with them. Any part of the body effected by Domu will be able to take powerful blows without flinching, as well as improving the ninja's unarmed strikes. Stone, however, weights more then flesh, and slows the user.
Name: Doryou Dango [Mausoleum Earth Dumpling] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: B Orientation: Offensive Effects: This jutsu draws upon the soil before the user and begins forming it into a great sphere. This ball is composed of dirt crushed firmly together, where it can be then easily flung at opponents. Because of it's composition, it will then roll after landing, crushing enemies via flight or roll. The size of the dumpling exceeds that of a house, and is difficult to stop.
Name: Yomi Numa [Swamp of the Underworld] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: A Orientation: Defensive, Offensive Effects: This jutsu turns a large area of land into a sinking swampland, making it impossible for anyone or anything in that area to move around. The mud of the swamp is extremely adhesive, weighting down upon an enemy and thus making their movement sluggish. Due to the fact that the jutsu can be used from a great distance and the size may be from a small pool to a great swamp, it makes this technique difficult to "Dodge". Over time, foes will be dragged down, the tar-like pool swallowing foes whole.
Name: Punji Pit Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton/Kinton Rank: A Orientation: Defensive, Offensive Effects: The ground crumbles under the target and starts to fall away, revealing a circular pit twenty feet wide and thirty deep. From the bottom of the pit grow four-foot steel spikes at six inch intervals.
Name: Doton: Dosekiryū [Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon ] Canon/Custom: Canon Element: Earth Type: Ninjutsu Rank: B Jutsu Prerequisites: Handseals: Horse, Dog, Bird, Ox, Snake Description: The user calls up earth and stone from around them, forming a large dragon-shaped projectile that can then be guided, directed by the caster similar to a Water Dragon jutsu. This strikes with a tremendous amount of force, plowing through its targets, but can be shattered by enough resistance. Due to the difficulty of the technique, characters below B-rank require two turns to perform it.
Name: Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu [Double Suicide Decapitation Technique] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: D Orientation: Offensive Effects: A jutsu used after the shinobi has successfully entered beneath the earth, by using the vibrations caused by the body touching the soil, the user will locate and move beneath an opponent, and will attempt to rise up from the earth to grab and pull them into the soil, temporary transferring the ability to phase through the earth so as to drag their body into the earth.
Name: Dochuu Eigyo [Underground Fish Projection] Type: Ninjutsu Sub-type: Doton Rank: C Orientation: Defensive, Supplementary Effects: A ninjutsu that defies normal surfaces and allows a Shinobi with an earth affinity to literately "Phase" into the ground, allowing them to travel beneath it in a manner similar to as if the user was in water.

More effective when used on harder terrain, since the stone spikes will hold together better and inflict more damage.

Name: Kekkaimon Gofūjutsu: Hachimon Heijō [Barrier Gate Five Seals Technique: Castle Closing Eight Gates] Canon/Custom: Canon Element: N/A Type: Fuinjutsu Rank: S Jutsu Prerequisites: Handseals: Ram → Hare → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger → Hare → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger → Snake → Tiger → Ox → Snake → Tiger → Hare → Horse → Dragon → Rat → Snake → Tiger → Snake → Rat → Ox → Tiger → Hare → Snake Description: This technique takes a great deal of preparation. First, a scroll has to be prepared with an exact blueprint of the area to be affected. If any of the details are wrong, the jutsu will fail. The scroll is then brought to the place that is to be sealed off, where the caster must spend 3 turns performing the jutsu. The number of turns this takes increases by one for each rank below S. Once done, four massive stone gates will rise up around the target area in the four cardinal directions, creating a barrier between them that will harm anything that touches it. The only way to pass through the barrier safely without destroying it is with a sealing paper created by the one who performed the jutsu. The seal can be broken by killing or incapacitating the caster, destroying the gates from outside the field, piercing the field from the inside to destroy the gates. This can be done with an S-rank jutsu, although one might not be enough to break one of the gates. Alternatively, a focused bombardment by A-rank or even massed B-rank jutsu can make a gap in the shield that can be used to destroy one of the gates and break the seal. All four gates have to be standing for the shield to be stable, and each one that is destroyed will make it successively weaker and easier to break.
Name: Gofuu Kekkai -- Five Seal Barrier Rank: C Requirements: Sealing tags x5 Description: This technique uses a seal placed on an object, door or gate to seal it shut. Alongside the initial tag, four other seals are placed around the area of the first. All five sealing tags must be removed at the same time to successfully remove the barrier.
Name: Fuuka Houin -- Fire Sealing Method Rank: B Requirements: Scroll Description: A technique that allows the user to seal away nearby fire. After inscribing their seal on a scroll, the user will focus their chakra through it to encompass and draw in the flames. This sealing technique can be used to seal away C-Rank Katon techniques and lower, but anything more powerful than that is beyond its capabilities.
Name: Pain Linking Seal Canon/Custom: Custom Element: N/A Type: Fuinjutsu Rank: B Jutsu Prerequisites: N/A Description: A seal which links the user's pain with a target they desire. As long as the seal exist any pain the user feels, so will the target, and vice-versa. Although, any physical damage done to the target isn't shown on the user's body, and vice-versa, only the pain. That said, if one person was the die, the other person would die as well.
The user also has the option to link their senses with their target, causing them to hear, smell, taste and see what the target does as well - and vice-versa.
Name: Five Elements Seal (五行封印, Gogyō Fūin) Canon/Custom: Canon Element: N/A Type: Fuinjutsu Rank: A Jutsu Prerequisites: N/A Description: This technique produces a powerful seal that is used to block or disturb the flow of chakra in a target. Once the seal is completed, the target will become unconscious and unable to fight for a short time.
Name: Ninja Techinque Weapon Seal Type: Fuinjutsu/Kinjutsu Rank: A Requirements: None Description: Steals a technique in a manner similar to the Self Transfer Seal, but sealing it in a weapon instead. Wielders with the correct elemental affinity will have a far easier time using the weapon, but this seal doesn't have the same issues with failure as the other seals do. The victim will have to re-train the stolen technique to use it again.
Name: Flesh Weapon Seal Type: Fuinjutsu/Kinjutsu Rank: A Requirements: Ninja Technique Weapon Seal Description: Forges a part of a human body into a weapon or armor. Different parts will have different effects. An eye causes the weapon to move on its own, assisting the wielder in parrying attacks. Muscle will give the wielder enhanced strength. A heart will allow the wielder to withstand more injury, though they will lose that boost when the weapon is sheathed, feeling the full effects of their injuries. Teeth will cause weapons to pull themselves deeper into the wounds they make. Veins will drain blood from the wounds they cause, using it to heal the wielder and restore their stamina.
Name: Soul Weapon Seal Type: Fuinjutsu/Kinjutsu Rank: S Requirements: Ninja Technique Weapon Seal Description: Seals a still-conscious human soul into a weapon, granting it immense power. The powers of these weapons vary widely, depending on the soul offered to create it and the methods used in crafting. Regardless of the rank of the victim, the seal uses the full potential of the trapped soul, creating an S-rank weapon. This is a very long and involved process, requiring the victim to be restrained. The ceremony lasts several hours and leaves Toshu completely drained for a day or so. This cannot be used on an NPC. In order to use it, the Shirotori must capture someone and bring them back to his workshop alive.
Name: Scroll Sealing Technique Type: Fuinjutsu Rank: D Orientation: Utility Effects: Seals an inanimate object into one of his scrolls.
Name: Pain Linking Seal II Canon/Custom: Custom Element: N/A Type: Fuinjutsu Rank: B Jutsu Prerequisites: N/A Description: A seal which is used primarily to help others. As long as the seal exist the target will be unable to obtain wound or feel any pain done to them, and is basically immune to death as long as the seal exist. In exchange though, all the damage and pain or negative effects the seal baring experiences will instead be transferred to the user. Even if the seal barer was to die, the user would take their place and die instead. The second effect is the opposite, which causes the target to take all the damage and pain that the user experiences.
The user also has the option to link their senses with their target, causing them to hear, smell, taste and see what the target does as well - and vice-versa.

Name: Yari no ame [Spear Rain] Type: Weaponry Sub-type: N/A Rank: D Orientation: Offensive Effects: The user jumps in to the air and whilst airborne makes multiple strikes at their target.
Name: Crushing Blow Type: Weaponry Sub-type: N/A Rank: C Orientation: Offensive Effects: Toshu puts his full strength into a downward hammer strike, trying to power through the target's defenses and crush them with sheer brute force.
Name: Burēdo no tenmetsu [Flashing Blade] Type: Weaponry Sub-type: N/A Rank: B Orientation: Offensive Effects: The user charges their blade with a small amount of chakra before they rush their enemy, flicking their weapon towards the targets torso. When they do this they release the chakra as a small blast.
Name: Kaimetsu-tekina suīpu [Crippling Sweep] Type: Weaponry Sub-type: N/A Rank: A Orientation: Offensive Effects: The user charges a large amount of chakra in their weapon and with their weapon aimed for their targets knees they sweep twice at the targets knee caps, letting out two blasts of chakra from the blade as it makes contact to attempt to ultimately cripple their enemy.

Name: Jōmae [lit. Lock] Type: Taijutsu Rank: C Description: A technique the focuses solely on the strength of one's hand and wrist. The user will simply place a hand on the opponent's body in whatever fashion they please, before a sudden vice grip will be made on the area touched. The strength is usually quite brutal, as fingers may dig into the flesh and will make the bones beneath creak from strain. This acts as a great way to keep a hold on an opponent, no matter how soft or slippery one may be. The grip is like a steel trap, making it practically impossible for those who aren't stronger than its user to escape the hold.
If the user is of extraordinary strength, they can even use this technique to simply crush the bones of the opponent within their grasp, making this technique a death sentence if placed firmly around their neck. With the speed at which this grip is made, knowledge of an opponent possessing such a technique is sure to deter an enemy from letting his or herself be touched.
Lastly, the technique carries with it a true shinobi's farewell. It is said that if one performs the technique just before they pass, even after death, their hold will remain as strong as ever. This is due to the powerful exertion on these wrist muscles which, when held out long enough, can severely cramp and lock into place.
Name: Lariat Type: Taijutsu Rank: C Description: A technique that relies more on brute force than skill. The user charges with an arm out, slamming it into the target and plowing them over. Relatively easy to dodge, but a direct block is less effective since the technique relies on simply overpowering the target.
Name: Chokeslam Type: Taijutsu Rank: C Description: Uses his size and strength to lift a target by the throat, slamming them headfirst to the ground.
historical information ___________________________________________ Born to the Kajiya clan in Raiugakure, and one of the few members of his clan who showed a talent for chakra use. He was enrolled in the academy, but showed little interest in actual combat. His main focus was always on the family business, despite the pressure from the rest of his clan to represent them as a ninja. It was only when he heard legends about Kinton jutsu that he took interest in his studies. Toshu became obsessed with fusing the ninja arts with his family craft, developing an interest in Fuinjutsu as well. His missions were always a secondary concern, with his main focus being on improving his creations.
As he explored fuinjutsu and kinton, Toshu became more and more obsessed with his art. He was starting to get bored with his style, thinking that an artist's style needs to evolve. In hopes of improving his work, Toshu started experimenting with kinjutsu. He would take home parts of the enemies who were killed on his missions, figuring out how to bind them into weapons and get effects from those. But even this wasn't enough. He developed more techniques that could bind parts of a soul into a weapon, abducting enemy shinobi to aid in his experiments.
Unfortunately for him, Toshu wasn't the stealthiest ninja. His experiments were soon discovered, forcing him to flee the village and leave behind a wife and unborn child. He wandered for six years, trying to set up forges where he could continue his work, before the Shirotori took him in. For Toshu, this was a dream come true. He had a forge of his own where he was free to continue his work, experimenting and creating weapons for his comrades in the Shirotori.
The dream got a lot less pleasant fifteen years ago, when his patron Zaku fell in battle against the Donkage. Toshu was furious, vowing revenge against Donzokogakure. The new leader of the Shirotori is all right in his books, just nowhere near the artistic mind that her predecessor was. He's attacked Donzoko several times since, trying to avenge himself on the town. In one of his escapades he caught up with an ANBU from Kemurigakure, returning from a mission in the area. She was captured and her soul stolen to make a new hammer for him. With this Master's Brush, his attacks have gotten more destructive and more frequent.
