| Arumi was pissed. She knew after mangling two men and traumatizing a small child on a simple rescue mission there would be some consequences, but this was ridiculous. She had the feeling they'd given her this job just to mock her. It wasn't fair, really. They'd spent her childhood training her to kill, and she just kills a couple kidnappers on a mission and they dock her pay for it. There was no justice in the world. Arumi arrived at the target and started to set up. She set down the buckets of paint she had brought and put a paper bag next to them. Taking off her cloak, she folded it neatly and set it down a safe distance away. Her parents had thrown a fit last time she'd ruined one, she didn't want a repeat of that incident. The genin popped open a can of primer and reached into the bag, pulling out four brushes. The girl tossed one to each hand, dipped them all in the bucket, and set to work. It was quick work for her. She was a little sloppy at first, but the nagging old man shouting out the window soon cleared that up. She carefully smoothed over the coat and moved around to the other side, making sure to be thorough so the old bastard wouldn't bitch her out again. After that, she had to wait a bit. She couldn't leave or old bastard would shout again, but it would take a while for this coat to dry. She literally had to watch paint dry. She started playing around with transformations while she waited. Her ears grew to elf-like points then shrank back to normal five times before the fence was dry enough for the actual paint. Arumi sighed, disappointed. She knew they were long odds, but she'd been hoping that she'd get stuck with the ears. She had some cool ideas of what to do with them. The monster girl sealed up the can of primer and popped open the paint. She got out a set of fresh brushes, putting the others back in the bag. She hadn't felt like washing brushes and the expenses for the mission were being charged to the village anyway, so why not be a little lazy? She dipped the brushes in the bucket and started working her way along the fence, all her arms working in tandem. Before long, the whole fence had been thoroughly painted. Arumi tossed the brushes in the bag with the others, sealed up the paint cans, put on her cloak, and headed on her way. She would have left them, but she was already under stricter supervision after her last mission. It was a pain, but she had to clean up after herself for once. Arumi ducked into an alley and tossed the bag and cans into a dumpster. It was officially no longer her problem. If they asked, she could say she found a use for them. It was true, from a certain point of view. The genin headed off towards the payroll office. She needed her dough. [Words: 518, Mission: here] | |
