Kiku was back in his favorite training field again. It had been a long morning, and there were fresh scorch marks on the rocky ground. He went over to where he had left his things, grabbed up a book and a bento, and headed over to a large rock in the middle of the field. Kiku sat himself down on the shady side, leaning against the rock while he ate.

By the time his lunch was done, Kiku had gotten wrapped up in his book. He lost track of the time, sitting there for quite a while reading. Part of him knew he shouldn't be slacking off like that, but he really had to find out what happened next. At least an hour passed while he sat there, dead to the world around him. Someone could have walked right up to him and he wouldn't have noticed.

Demetri had walked into one of the many training fields that were within the village. He carried some lunch with him along with a bottle of water and other things he would need for training, such as a small towel to wipe the sweat off with. he looked around and saw no one else around, although he had yet to check behind things like trees and rocks. Demetri set his things down beside a tree that had plenty of shade to it ensuring that his lunch would not overheat and his water wouldn't get hot and began to jog around the field.

He began his jog as he noticed someone sitting in the shade leaning up against a rock in the shade. Deciding to punk out he jogged around the field checking every so often to see if the boy was paying any attention, which it seemed he wasn't. After making it around the field, which took thirty minutes on its own, he walked over to the rock as he never saw the boy leave.

Making it to the rock he would walk on top of it and crouch down his arms crossing over his legs and look at the book the boy was reading. "Whatcha' reading?" He asked curious as to why someone would spend so long out in the heat just to read.

Kiku jumped, letting out a little squeak when he heard the voice right next to him. When had this other ninja gotten here? He didn't recognize him, but he looked older than Kiku. Well, looked older than Kiku was. Just about everyone looked older than Kiku looked. It took him a moment to remember how words worked after that shock.

"I um, it's about the Akatsuki. The Two Immortals." He closed the book, holding it up for the older boy to see. Looking up, he noticed where the sun was in the sky. It was a lot later than he'd intended to rest. Kiku started to panic. Had he been interfering with this guy's training time? He stood up, collecting his things. "Sorry, I guess I kinda lost track of the time. I can leave if you want." He smiled nervously, hoping to avoid any trouble. This guy was older, he was probably a much better ninja than Kiku. Then again, in Kiku's mind, so was everyone else.

The boy Jumped and let out a squeak as Demetri spoke he seemed a little startled by his presence. 'He better not be some push over...' he thought to himself. Demetri despised the weak they could get stronger yes but they had to work for it which most did not want to do. The boy began to explain what the book was about. "The two immortals huh?" He asked as he took a closer look at the book. 'If he is physically weak at least he can be strong in knowledge.' He thought to himself thinking if nothing else his knowledge would be useful to him.

The boy began to gather his things and saying that he could leave if Demetri wanted him to. "Nah you can stay if you want." he said offering the boy his hand to shake, a "privilege" that not many got, if the boy took his hand he would say "My name is Demetri. Gogetsu, Demetri. Nice to meet you!"

Kiku nervously shook Demetri's hand. Why was he being so friendly? Normally this was when people told him to fuck off, but this guy was treating him like he was cool or something. He stammered out his name. "U-Uzumaki Kikuchiyo. Nice to meet you too." He smiled awkwardly, wondering what the trick was. Was this guy up to something.

The idea of training together was interesting, but Kiku was a little nervous about it. A lot of the stuff he'd been training lately was pretty big, it might hurt someone if he didn't have the field to himself. Still, this guy had been nice and it would have been rude to say no. He would just have to keep to the smaller, more precise stuff. He could do that. Kiku nodded to the other genin. "Sure, I still got some stuff I can do."

"Kikuchiyo nice name." Demetri said as the boy stuttered it out. Demetri seemed to be treating this boy nicer then the rest of village and that was only because he seemed to have the superior intellect 'Good thing this aint a battle of wits i think i would lose to him.' He thought to himself as the boy as the boy said he could stay. "If you want we could have a spar." Demetri said hoping to stretch his muscles a little bit more "No jutsu just Hand to Hand so no one gets hurt." He said thinking he would be able to take down the one Kiku based only on the fact that he was reading instead of training.

A spar? That would be trouble, and a taijutsu spar was even worse. Still, he'd been intruding on Demetri's training time, it would be rude to refuse a simple request like that. "Um, okay." Kiku forced a nervous smile, getting into a stance. This other boy was bigger, older, and looked to be in better shape than he was. Little Kiku probably didn't stand a chance. But he had to try, he wasn't going to get to be a decent ninja by giving up on everything. He nervously beckoned, letting the older genin make the first move. He knew he was going to get his ass kicked, but he could at least try to give the guy a decent fight.
