Hagane was born as a ninja, or that he knew that he would become a ninja. His family was a traditionalist family of ninjas and had been/have been working for Soragakure since it's founding. They never developed a unique bloodline, they never found a special characteristic among them, never developed a series of techniques to give them a great advantage over other clans or villages as they believes information should be free among allies and hated clans that kept their secret techniques to themselves. Anyway that is a story of another day, Hagane was born into this family that had nothing special but an excellent service record and was expected to do the same. Whether it was impressed upon him from a young age and on to be a good ninja and defend his village as well as train like a beast day in and day out for this goal or whether it was in his genes or even if it was destined to be, Hagane did just that. He followed in the footsteps of his family to the letter, training, fighting, training, learning, training, going to war, and then some more training between. And so it was that Hagane became a ninja.

Hagane was born into a tumultuous time between the nations, there are always wars between the villages and this was no exception, his parents, being ninja of the clan that had nothing special of it at all, aside badassery, went all out and into the war zone which left him to be tutored and watched over from a childhood age and on by the ninja academy...Which he reffered to as home for the majority of his childhood life as his parents were rarely in the village and when they were they rarely even saw him as it was on business. Such it was that the emotional state of Hagane was begun to be thrown into the chaotic and horrid state that it would eventually become as an adult, though at the time his 100% focus during 100% of his life as a child learning ninja stuffs made him into quite the skilled genin after his one year early graduation from the academy...unfortunately for him there was no one there to support this accomplishment as his parents had died in the war.

During these times of war genin were left behind often or sent to do very basic recon or supply gathering, it was the future of the village military force that rested with the genin generation and they weren't so good at fighting so they got the jobs that no one wanted to do that put them in no harms way and in no danger. Such it was that Hagane got his arsenal of missions began taking on dozens of D rank and many C rank missions for the war effort. Carrying supplies, buying supplies, tracking down livestock, harvesting food, aiding in the medical tents, (this one really messed him up mentally. Seeing dead people, dying people, wounded people and more on a daily basis while sticking neelds in them and watching them die is not great for a 10-11 year old child.) and even rarely going into the field to give repots to the ninja squads from the headquarters as there were never enough communication ninja in the village, sensory is not so popular among the ninja. It was during this time that he realized, a few ninja that could kills someone every day, be sneaky, stealthy, and above all, a ninja, would make the war effort a lot smoother. So he became a true ninja as he calls himself from then on.

His chuunin exams were rather easy and it was one of the largest graduating classes from the exams that there ever was. The easiness of the exam overshadowed his first among the ninja that graduated and highest rated of them all making him look like a fool that got a pass into chuunin-dom when in reality he was ready for some of the hardest chuunin exams in history had they been brought upon him. This didn't help his self esteem but by this point in his life he had already devoted his life to Soragakure and the family name. He was basically a robot with a heart and brain at this point but that would be lost.

As he aged he lost friends, more of his family, gained new family and the only thing that remained as a constant in his life was that he got missions, did them, and continued the same process day in and day out, and was happy with that as that was all that he ever imagined that life was. A successful military track record such as that is what earned him his position among the ANBU of Soragakure. An elite squad of stealth based ninja who carried out missions on private order by the kage of the village. Sorakage hand picked all of the anbu black ops members and it was a great honor to be a part of them though it was secret and so the honor was kind of rejected beyond the closest friends and family as well as the Sorakage confidants that were privvy to the information.

Mary sueing on Hagane took the lead of the ANBU squads soon after he was inducted into them at the staggering age of 17 years. He was renowned as a good ninja but known and feared as a true ninja. Sneaking around, assassinations, recon, those were the missions he was most skilled at aside from directing others on missions. He was becoming a political force due to his track record and unwavering resolve as well as the placement that he was getting due to his successes and amazing ability on the battlefield, in the ninja field, and in the field of command and tactics. So that when the war ended he hardly even noticed as he was still playing the tactical field of inner village politics and had his attention fully compressed at all times.

As he aged he eventually became promoted to Head Jounin at the age of 22. A much more reasonable age as he was hitting his peak of preformance and had more than proved himself worthy of the position within the ranks of Soragakure as one of the prime candidates for Sorakage due to his unshaking resolve and brilliant successes both on and off the battlefield. A heavily rewarded soldier of many battles and a true ninja assassin of the night. A perfect combination for such a turbulant world...
