Arumi looked over her mission scroll. This was probably going to be the easiest thing in the world. She'd faced down missing nin, mauled kidnappers, and scrapped with badgermoles. A little cat would be less than nothing to one of her skills. It was almost insulting, but hey, it was easy money and that was something she could use right now. Getting that new apartment had made her keenly aware of how expensive rent could be, she needed to rake in the cash. So here she was, hunting a cat. She did a double take when she saw the name. Who the hell names a cat Rikudo Sennin? Shrugging off the oddity, Arumi focused on transforming. There was a faint glow of chakra from her tattoo as her tongue stretched. When the growling stopped, she could taste the air again. It was an addictive feeling, having these extra senses. Her tongue flicked out, whipping through the air around the cat toy she'd been given. It took a moment to pick it out from the stink of catnip, but she could smell the cat all right. She headed for the client's house, hoping to pick up the trail from there. Sure enough, she could smell where the creature had gone. She trailed it through the town, leading her to a rooftop. The stupid thing had found its way onto the roof of a corner store and now it didn't know how to get down. Now came the tricky part. Aside from how stubborn cats usually were, animals didn't like the Hirano too much. Luckily, she had prepared. Arumi slowly advanced across the roof, dangling the toy and jingling its little bell. “Come on you little monster, just a little closer.” she said in a fake sweet tone. The cat ignored her at first, then it was hesitant, and finally it lunged for the toy. Many hours of watching pointless videos had prepared Arumi for this moment. She knew exactly what to do. She dropped the toy on the roof, letting the cat get it. Rikudo Sennin batted it around, seeming to forget that he was stuck 3 stories off the ground with no readily apparent way down. While he was distracted, Arumi sprang into action. She grabbed the scruff of the cat's neck, putting on some pressure. Instinct took over and the animal went limp. She picked him up with a huge grin on her face, she had successfully deactivated a cat! It was smooth sailing back to the client's house. As long as she kept a firm grip, the little monster in her arms didn't remember that it could move. It was a kitten again and its mommy had picked it up and was carrying it somewhere. Arumi tried not to think of any maternal implications, caring had never been her strong suit. She just brought the horrid beast home and collected her reward. The owner didn't seem to know how she had done it, but he didn't care much either. Rikudo Sennin was safe at home and the nice ninja lady wasn't mauled. All was right with the world. Name: Bloodhound Rank: D Range: Self Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Handsigns: N/A Description: Improves the sense of smell, allowing the user to track targets by scent. It can come in two varieties. One is the nose, which flattens into just a pair of nostrils on the surface of their face. The other is a long, snakelike tongue that lets them taste the air, and gives their voice a hissing quality. The tongue is long enough to reach their own forehead. If this becomes permanent, it can lead to some erratic and feral behavior down the line as they rely more and more on their sense of smell.
